The original funeral home in Preston, located at 157 Fillmore St. W., was purchased by Muriel and Dale Thauwald in 1952. In 1966 the couple purchased the funeral home in Wykoff, located at 123 Gold St. S. In 1976 their son Jeffrey joined the firm as a licensed mortician and in 1978 bought the funeral home in Spring Valley, located at 533 N. Broadway. In 1993 Jeffrey purchased the business from his parents. Mark Treat, a licensed mortician, joined the firm in January 1997.
